Through the use of Design Thinking principles, FIRC can assist to elicit consumer empathy, engage in frequent prototyping and foster collaboration with the target audience to discover new opportunities within the food domain.

The Food Innovation and Resource Centre (FIRC) was launched in 2007 as a joint initiative between Singapore Polytechnic and Enterprise Singapore.
With 8 lab facilities and over a 100 equipment, FIRC assist in conducting pilot trials with its range of extensive equipment which is available for leasing to manufacture prototypes for test marketing purposes.
What We Do
Equipped with dedicated facilities for pilot plant, test kitchen, application laboratories and sensory suite, FIRC provides an avenue for the food industry to find solutions to their needs.

A significant aspect of FIRC’s role is to provide practical training to meet the needs of the food industry. FIRC have dedicated training facilities at the centre, which offers generic, certified and customised training courses.
Equipment are available for lease to manufacture prototypes for test marketing purposes.
